Privacy Policy

Who this applies to

This policy covers the Pyramid apps for Mac and iPhone and the website at pyramidkit.com. The apps and site are provided by Electric Pass Labs, LLC d/b/a Pyramid. Where this policy refers to "we" or "us", it means that entity.

What Pyramid stores, and where

Pyramid writes one markdown file per note into a folder on your device. It also keeps a small metadata folder alongside your notes, holding your saved versions, tag icon choices and recently deleted notes. Deleted notes stay in that folder for thirty days and are then removed.

All of this is ordinary storage on hardware you control. You can open the folder, read it, back it up, move it or delete it at any time, with or without Pyramid.

What we do not collect

We want to be specific rather than reassuring. Pyramid does not:

• ask you to create an account or sign in
• send the content of your notes, their titles or their tags to us
• include analytics, telemetry, tracking pixels or advertising software
• build a profile of you or share anything with data brokers
• sell your information, which we could not do, as we do not hold it

iCloud sync

If you use sync, your notes move between your Mac and your iPhone through your own Apple account, in a folder Apple provides to the app. Apple carries and stores that data under its own terms, and we have no access to it and no ability to read it. Your relationship there is with Apple, so Apple's privacy policy governs that part of the journey.

If you prefer not to sync at all, you can keep your notes folder outside iCloud and Pyramid will work exactly the same way.

Software updates

The Mac app checks periodically for a new version. That check is a request to our update host, and like any web request it necessarily reveals your IP address, along with the app version and platform being asked about. We use this only to serve the correct update file. We do not use it to identify you or to build usage statistics. On iPhone, updates are handled entirely by the App Store and Pyramid makes no such request.

The App Store

If you install Pyramid from the App Store, Apple may share limited information with us, such as aggregate download counts and, where you have opted in, crash reports and usage figures. This arrives already aggregated or anonymised and is governed by Apple's terms rather than ours.

The website

pyramidkit.com is a set of static pages. It sets no tracking cookies and runs no advertising software. Our host keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and diagnostics.

If you contact us

When you email us for support, we hold that message and your email address so we can reply and keep track of the conversation. We do not use support correspondence for marketing unless you ask us to.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete the personal data an organisation holds about you, and to complain to a regulator. In Pyramid's case the honest answer is that we hold very little: your notes are yours and already in your hands, so the only records we are likely to have are support emails and server logs. To ask about those, or to have them deleted, write to us at the address below.

Children

Pyramid is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Pyramid handles data, we will update this page and move the date at the top. Where a change is significant, we will say so in the release notes rather than leaving you to spot it.
